Ballet I Beginning Ballet for performers who will learn terminology, proper technique, body placement, alignment and control to execute steps correctly, ballet etiquette, as well as why ballet is the foundation for most dance forms. Ballet II Intermediate Ballet for performers who will continue to learn more advanced terminology and steps not only to learn combinations but to execute them properly in order to gain muscle, advance skill, and prevent injury.
CREATIVE DANCE (all ages)
Creative dance combines the mastery of movement with the artistry of expression. Performers will explore the elements/concepts of dance which include space, time, force, body, movement, and form to benefit their dancing.
Beginner/Intermediate Hip Hop class. Performers gain knowledge of hip hop styles and body movements and are challenged with choreography.
IMPROVISATION (all ages)
Improvisation is a fun movement Session that will allow Performers to begin/expand in their creative dancing. Performers will learn to think quickly on their feet while developing personal creative expression and musicality.
Basic Jazz movements and proper technique along with development of dance terminology.
LEAPS & TURNS
Performers are taught with an emphasis on technique and correct body placement to execute leaps and turns properly. The Session will include strength and conditioning as well as a focus on stretching in order to achieve leaps and turns.
Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz, with expressive motions that tell a story. Performers will blend the sustained, controlled movements of ballet with the freedom, power, and dynamics of jazz along with expression and interpretation of music.
MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE
This class teaches Broadway-style choreography, stage presence, and acting while focusing of learning song-and-dance numbers from a variety of musical productions, past and present.
